(Herman Hesse)Montefalco is on the top of a hill, surrounded by olive trees and vineyards. Here, in this picturesque village rich in historical and artistic memories, we meet Valeria.As a child, our Cesarina would spend her days carefully watching the grandmothers cook: at her grandmother's house she could never miss a lit fireplace, where you bake the local flatbread called ‘torta al testo’. When she met her husband, they moved from the upper Tiber valley to Montefalco. Here, she discovered new dishes from the Umbrian tradition and another grandmother, who taught her secrets and her love for cooking. Today in her family home, she delights her guests in the kitchen, welcoming them around a large table and a fireplace, or, in summer, on the terrace with views of the olive trees.
